PTO

The Bancroft PTO is a registered nonprofit that meets monthly to decide how best to support the school via funding requests, sponsoring family activities, and acting as an advocate for caregivers, teachers and students to the administration and Minneapolis Public Schools.

Some of the projects we help fund include the following:

Join the Family Directory via this Google Form.

Those who opt in will have access to the directory to arrange playdates and connect with classmates' families. The directory cannot be used for business or political solicitations. The link should not be be shared with people who are not in the directory.

Bancroft PTO works to enhance students' experiences in school and act as a parent/caregiver advocate. We organize events that bring our community together to engage in issues that impact students and their learning experience. The Bancroft PTO conducts fundraisers throughout the school year to support the students by funding teachers' requests for things not covered by MPS.

Bancroft PTO meetings are the second Monday of the month at 5:30-7pm via Zoom. AnyBancroft parent and caregiver can bring discussion items and can vote to direct PTO actions.

Bancroft T-shirts and hoodies are now available at our online store!

Bancroft Squad Locker

On Squad Locker, you can purchase blue or yellow items with our school mascot. They can be customized for an extra cost.

Orders ship about 6-10 days after the order is placed. PTO is not using this as a fundraiser, so prices are not marked up. We know our community loves showing their school spirit.

In 2023, Bancroft PTO provided each student a free Bancroft Bulldog T-shirt.

Leadership Positions

President

Responsible for holding monthly meetings, for representing PTO at staff and community meetings (such as Site Council, or the Bancroft Neighborhood Association), for managing PTO projects to ensure continued progress, and other duties as deemed necessary.

Vice President

Responsible to act as in place of the President when needed, to manage the classroom funding request process.

Treasurer

Responsible for writing checks from the PTO operating budget and the field trip fund as needed, for maintaining monthly updates to the PTO balance sheets, for receiving and depositing checks or cash given to the PTO, and for being the primary signatory on the PTO bank accounts.

Communication Chair

Responsible for creating the biweekly PTO newsletter, maintaining the PTO Facebook page and other digital media platforms

Secretary

Responsible for taking meeting minutes, for translation services, for official correspondence with other groups.

Read-A-Thon Chair

Responsible for planning and executing the annual Read-A-Thon fundraiser and Book Drive in October.

Spring Plant Sale Chair

Responsible for planning and executing the annual Spring Plant Sale in April and May.

Safe Routes to School Coordinator

Responsible for managing the PTO Safe Routes to School initiatives.
